I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM. I HAVE A 94 Z28 CONV. EVERYTHING IS FACTORY, THERE HAVE BEEN NO MODIFICATIONS OR CHANGES. THE CAR HAS 128K ON IT AND I AM THE SECOND OWNER.

NOW THE PROBLEMS(2): FIRST THIS CAR ON START UP SHOWS GREAT OIL PRESSURE THROUGH WARM UP AND HOLDS 50-60 LBS THROUGH ALL NORMAL DRIVING. BUT, AS SOON AS YOU GET ON THIS CAR A LITTLE THE PRESSURE DROPS @ IDLE IT ONLY CARRIES AROUND 10-15 LBS NOW AT REG DRIVING THE PRESSURE INCREASES TO THE 50-60 RANGE. WHY THE CHANGE?? I USE MOBILE 1 SYNTHETIC OIL.

THE SECOND AND MOST AGGRAVATING PROBLEM IS AT AROUND 40-45 MPH THIS CAR DANCES AROUND LIKE A STRIPPER. IT SEEMS TO BE FELT IN THE STEERING AND BODY. SOMETIMES IT'S WORSE THAN OTHERS. WEATHER HAS NO EFFECT, ROAD CONDITIONS NO EFFECT, DRIVERS NO EFFECT YET IT'S THERE FOR THE MOST PART ALL THE TIME. HERE'S WHAT I'VE DONE: I HAVE ROTATED AND BALANCED ALL TIRES, TAKEN THE TIRES OFF THE RIMS BALANCED THE RIMS ONLY, I'VE TRIED 3 SETS OF TIRES, I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO HAVE THE DRIVE SHAFT BALANCED AND REAR END ALIGNED, I HAVE HAD ALL LINKAGES, BEARINGS, HUBS, SPINDLES EVERYTHING IN THE FRONT END CHECKED. I HAVE REPLACED ALL OF THE SHOCKS. I'VE TAKEN IT TO 3 DIFFERENT TECHNICIANS, TWO OF WHICH WERE GM CERTIFIED AND TO THIS DATE NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE IT OUT. I'M OUT OF OPTIONS AND I WOULD REALLY LIKE SOME HELP TO RESOLVE THIS GLITCH. THANK YOU.

come on ! Someone ?! Anyone ?

Hang in there man, maybe someone will notice this is here.

By the way, your oil pressure sounds pretty normal. Unless it has a high pressure oil pump, most cars won't carry over 10-15lbs at idle. I think my Mustang runs about 19lbs at idle. The reason it drops when you get on it, is because you heat the oil up pretty quick when running it hard.

Have you checked the oil pressure sending unit?

Does the shaking get worse when you apply the brakes around 45-60mph? Tie rod ends, maybe a bad centerlink, or possibly a bent control arm?

The oil pressure is normal
How "loose" does the car feel? is it annoying or does it feel unsafe to drive?'
I would check panard rob bushings and the rod it's self.

Mine would do that too. It was litteraly gettin hung up in the "ruts" in the road from where cars have been driving for years, there was no way to prevent it. My 96, 98, 01 and my 1991 vette all do it.
Oil pressure drops off under load? or "when you get on" You should replace the oil pressure sending unit if it is normal, like yours sounds, at all other times.

it gets no worse applying brakes. it does seem to go and come though, seems the more you drive the better but its still there, then all of a sudden its worse again.

In my opinion, the F-bodys have very responsive steering, as you feel more of whats going on with the road, or atleast from my experience. Maybe you are feeling things in the road, you wouldnt normally feel in other cars ?

This is very true, you can feel pretty much every little imperfection in the road. Like, the grooves that are in the road from constant driving, somtimes it will feel like its pulling to one side. With 10-30 oil, the pressure in my 97 would be about 40-50 when it was cold, but once it warmed up it dropped to about 20 during idle. and around 40-60 under load. Ive been using a mixture of 15-50 and 10-30 for a while now, and during startup it will be about 60 idling, but once it gets hot itll idle at about 35-40, and go to 50-60 when I get on the gas. Did they check to see if any of the rims were bent? it could also be one of the shafts in the trans.
