Hey, ya'all been away for a while.
I just got my first chev product tonite. 92 shorty van v6 blah blah, When bringing it home tonite i noticed the heat selector is very loose. I'm guessing a cable is broken? Anyone got some knowledge of these vans?
Thanks
Grape Ape
Other than THEY SUCK? heh... It could be something disconnected, but it could also be the switch itself, just being broken or even somethign wrong with the "swing door" that allows heat in..
MikeT
I think thats gonna use vacuum hoses to control the heater/vent.
cswrench
vacuum hose to contol mode doors and a cable to move temp door.
Grape Ape
Yup. they're new enough for sure, so it is probably vacuum controlled... Well, that makes sense anyway, since mechanical versions were too good to keep using due to lack of money making failures.. heh

the defrost and heat lever works, i can hear some vacuum noise when moving it. just the hot cold selector dosent do anything but blow cold. so that's on a vacuum too then?
How do i get at it? from the bottom of the dash?
Giz
look for a cable on the right side of the dog-house that door sticks a lot so the cable just slides in the clip
Giz
FUTURE MODS
repaint car with nail polish

update, the cable came off the selecter switch, its missing the little metal clip thingy that holds the cable to the tit.
thanks Giz
