Helo friends,greetings from Panama.

I just got a old 351 W which is supose to be a marine engine.
The timming chain cover is different and crank seems to be lighter than stock.
Which are the major differences between car and bout engines?
What can I xpect from this engine to be use in my stang?
I'm planning to use a AOD,what flex plate to use 28 or 50 oz?

I have no idea what the real difference is between the marine and auto engines are.

but you will need a 28 oz 64 tooth flywheel.

I was concern about rev capacity or cooling.
Since marine engines spend most of time reving high and steady,I thought cooling passages and water jackets could be more efficient to handle with heat.
I'll try to get a standard crank to compare chamfers,rod journal ,counterweights and so on.

I think they tend to be "beefier"
I know the big block GM motors have an 10 vane water pump like the RV, the standard pump is 8 vane.
I belive the bearing caps are also butressed for strenght, but I am not sure on that.
