exhaust help

im wanting to know if anybody has the flowmaster series 40 mufflers on their mustang and do they sound good.for the meanest sound should i run the pipes out the back or put turn downs on it.

I like the way they sound with turndowns.

I've got the 40 series 2 chamber Flows...exhaust out the back. I like the way they sound but a lot of ppl hate the drone sound they make. Turn downs would mostly likely be even louder.

i got them ran out the back and i love them.especially when i set car alarms off when i back up to a car a rev my engine up to about 4000.

Flowmaster 2-chambers should have come on Mustangs as stock equipment. :hb:

Flowmaster = perfect on the 5.0L

Magnaflow = definately made for the 4.6L

I put Flowmasters on mine and I think they sound good. I didn't do the turn downs because I didn't want it too loud. What I like is they are not too loud when I am at highway speeds. But when I get on it they roar. It was a hard choice for me because I didn't have any other real life examples to listen to. So I just went with the flowmasters and I don't have any regrets.

I had an 01 GT with Raven series 33 (or what ever the lowest number is) mufflers put in the stock location with pipes all the way to the rear. The mufflers made the 4.6 sound soo sweet. The Ravin mufflers are handled by Midas and I believe they have a web site with sound clips. Good luck.
