1/8 Mile Times for 03 COBRA

Now that is showing 390hp. Shit I have never trapped that low.
I think this guy got a turd. I found the info on Tennesspeed.net--this guy
tried to blame it on his R/T--only problem is for one it was not that bad--like a .557---secondly his car sucks. :P Please tell me how a car with that
much hp can trap that low without spinning? I know R/T has no effect due to the clock not starting untill the car moves :roll: ---need some feedback on this subject. Is it like the other cobra models that did not put out as much hp as they were listed to, and some strong as hell :confused: It can be done, I rest my case. Watch out LS1 owners 8)

Well I'm sure we can imagine that he can drive--it was not his first rodeo
according to his posts. I mean come on, when I first started racing I had
terrible R/T's, and could not drive. My car still put out decent #'s, and BTW
I was not claiming 390hp either. Off the info, it was the car--He cut like 2.3
or 2.4 60', but that is very common with those cars(6speeds). Taken for granted that he had a .557 R/T, 2.4 60' without spining, a 390hp car would
trap much higher. The only question here is at what point was he shifting.
However this is not the first time I've heard of these cars running in the 9's.

It's hard to say, I see so many different times and MPH with the same type of cars. it's just hard to say. But I will say this, his MPH is VERY LOW period! reguardless of his driving skills and 60FT! I plan on doing a good bit of drag racing this winter with the SS but as of now I have only ever made 1 pass, and it was at a 1/8th mile track. here is how it went...

RT: 0.456 (woops! :D )
60FT: 2.196 (2.0 pretty much! :( )
1/8TH: 8.719 (not bad for the 60FT. :( )
MPH: 87.20 (heck yeah! :eek: )

I did not really spin, but barley rolled into it so it killed my ET!

Jay, and you other sonofabitch FBody owners, FUCKOFF!!! :P Just kidding man, I am just jealous because my car can't MPH worth shit. The fastest OTHER street car out at Oxford was running the same ETs as I was, but like 5 mph faster anyway in the 1/8th. THAT is why I don't mess with FBodies from a ROLL.
As for the Cobra guy, damn, I'm gonna hate defending a FORD, but that dude can't drive for shit. I mean there are probably people out here who couldn't break a 10 with a fucking Viper because they don't know how to drive. RT wouldn't matter, so if he pulled a .56 or a 3.56, his time and trap would still be the same shitty numbers. If he wasn't spinning, he must've been shifting at like 3500 because those cars can fucking move.

Damn...I try to blame the car when it's my overwhelming incompetence that forbids me from getting that elusive 12 second timeslip. I did mph like a mo-fo tonight, but it's my shit-tastic launches that make my ET SUKADIK. I know that car can be well into the 12s with a good launch and some damn OC-TANE.
BTW I was racing my FBody friend tonight (not side by side, but always in spirit). As per usual, he beat me by 0.01 seconds (no lie, 13.30 to 13.29). He did the same damn thing the first time we went out (his 13.59 with slipping tranny to my 13.60 don't know how to launch for shit). He's a hell of a driver though, I should've had him if I had skills. BTW he wasn't MPHing much over me (2 mph or so) but he's got a '94 with the A4, and can launch quite well. Frig, an FBody was what I wanted all along, but the damn insurance cost for a newer one was gonna kill me. FBodies definitely rock, GNs are awesome sleepers, and Mustangs of course suck :P
