i raced my car for the first time the other day, its a 97 gt with 57,000 kilometers on it and when i went to put it into second i had the clutch in all the way and there was a massive grind that even the guy in the other car heard, and now when i want to put it into revers i have the clutch in all the way and the gears are still turnin! i cant put it in slow caus ethe gears will just grind, i have to slam it into revers, also when i change gears it seems like te gears are stickin when i move the shifter, it seems very rough. The guy who sold it to me said he put a new clucth in, could he have messed up and not set the cable right or not tightend it enough? any help would be great thnx

try putting your foot behind the clutch pedal and pull up pretty hard. Then, put the pedal to the floor and sidestep that bitch to let it fly back up. Watch your shin, because it'll hurt like a mofo if that thing hits you! What you'll be doing is kicking that adjustable clutch pawl into adjusting the clutch cable, unless it has an aftermarket clutch quadrant in it, then try this next deal...

If that doesn't help anything, take the dust shield off the side of the tranny, where the cable runs into, and see if it just clamps on the clutch fork or if their is an adjusting nut. If there is, tighten it a couple rounds and see what that does.

problem solved, i brought the car into the local power mecanics school to change to tranny and engine oil and the teacher adjusted the clutch a lil bit and after 2 days it was fully in place and workin like a dream.
