I just bought a new crate motor to go in my 95 mustang gt, it is rated at 345hp, It came with .512 lift ont he cam and svo aluminum gt40 head and is bored .30 over.Everythingis new on the motor like the professional products uper and lower intake, pistons, lifters and Valves. I am keepin it FI. I put a 70 mm tb, 73 mm maf 24#injectors and 155lph fuel pump in it. Got it back yesterday from the dyno and a disappointed 235rwh came up. The people did not have enough fuel to it so i adjusted the fpr to 42 and i can feel a little difference. The computer wont let me adjust the timing, because when i do the comp overrides it back to factory. Will a chip help and about how much fuel pressure should i have going to it? This car should be tearing the tires off but it just dont feel like it should, Please help i am in much need of it.

What's the AFR on that badboy?
If you're looking for a chip, I hear www.jmschip.com is good to go. :tu:
Welcome to the site, by the way.
I'd put some sauce on that Pony and rock out. :)

what do you mean the computer overrides the timing you give it?? what tranny : auto or stick?? what exhaust you running?? could be just some small thing that togetehr make the difference.
Tang
To adjust the timing, there is some wires that run to the TFI module on the side of the distributor. Just before the plug that goes on the TFI, there is a small plug. This is called a spout connector. You unplug it, adjust the timing, then put it back. If you leave that in, the computer will correct it everytime you turn the distributor.
Grape Ape
But the 95 GT has the different ECM that overrides many manual adjustments all by itself. That's why people often try to change the ECM on them. There are ways to burn chips that work, but people seem to hate the 95 model.
Aside from that, the 345hp rating should allow for much more than 235rwhp even with factory stock exhaust on the car. Something is NOT right, so I recommend finding out what it is, ECM, timing, lack of fire, fuel, whatever. There IS a problem.
StoneFox
It would be worth it to spend the money and have that puppy dyno tuned.
Tang
Yah Grape, it should be putting down power in the 280-290 range at the rear wheels.

Hey again thanks for the help so far, i have equal length headers on it with no cats and flowmaster mufflers, the car is fice speed. I adjustd the fp to 41 psi and the computer has the initial timing at 24* and when it advances it goes off the charts. The computer still will not let mee change it with the spout connectopr out, i heard that a chip will help get the timing straight. It might be the cam but from a rolling start when i nail the throttle the car feels like it bogs until 3500 rpm and then comes alive but not like it should. Must be the timing? i guess, that damn computer! thatnks for the help and please let me know if you have any ideas.
VETTKLR
Damn, I was thinking more along the lines of 14* initial timing!
michael12203
yeah the computer takes over i have set it oever and oever again at about 16 to 18 but the computer overrides me. When we had it dynoed the dyno showed that the car was putting out 24* intitail timing and the a/f ratio was a peak of 15.7 before the computer took it over also.
Tang
The '95 is still EEC-IV isn't it ? If so can't it be switched to a 89-93 A9L ?
michael12203
i will check in to that
Tang
check here http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=603554 its topic about using an SN-95 computer on a Fox Body.
michael12203
thanks for that, will that computer go with the 24#injectors and the 73mm maf? i know i will be able to bump the timing up on that because i had a 91 before and we were able to, thanks for the info
Tang
I'm running a 73mm MAF on my '92, with no troubles. The MAF is what calibrates for the injectors.
I'd do some research on it, and try one in it if possible. Make sure the connectors match and all. I know it will run better with the A9L if you can get it working.
Horselips
You didn`t say anything about rear end gears.
You should probably be going with something like 3.55 or 3.73s.
It wont help on the dyno but it will help tons on the street where it counts.
If you`ve all ready seen to this just ignore this post. :)

i am going to get it redynoed this weekend and a superchip burned for it, i then will adjust the fp on it after we get the chip back in it, they said that putiing this chip in wil fix my problem. I notice when i drive though that it feels like it has a skip to it but the apsrk plugs wires and msd is brand new. the fp is at 42psi right now, any ideas, please let me know
michael12203
yeah i have a 3.73 rearend and it woke it up a lot but the car just bogs until 3500 rpm. Wheteher it is the cam or the timing it shoulnt be doing this
